PhotoACTIVE has proven efficacy on bacteria and viruses such as H1N1.
After several weeks of waiting, the result against covid-19 finally came: PhotoACTIVE is effective against SARS-CoV-2. We thank the University of Siena in Italy for conducting PhotoACTIVE efficacy tests against the SARS-CoV-2 responsible for Covid-19.
The team of Professor Maria Grazia Cusi, Professor of Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology of the Department of Medical Biotechnology of the University of Siena and Director of the UOC of Microbiology and Virology of the University Hospital of Siena, is currently engaged in diagnosis and research on the Sars-Cov2 virus and was the first in Tuscany, last April, to isolate the SARS-Cov2 virus in cell cultures, a result that has enabled the scientific community to study the pathogen, d assess its virulence and research possible antiviral drugs and vaccines.
